A new production of Rossini’s "Guillaume Tell" recently opened at the Met Opera. The new staging, in the original French, is directed by Pierre Audi, the incoming Artistic Director of the Park Avenue Armory, and is conducted by Fabio Luisi. The cast includes Gerald Finley in the title role, Marina Rebeka as the Princess Mathilde, and Bryan Hymel as her suitor Arnold.
