Clip: Season 2014 Episode 250 | 12m 12s

A rare interview with Sergei Filin, the artistic director of the Bolshoi Ballet.

The Bolshoi Ballet was founded in Moscow in 1776, just a few months before Thomas Jefferson signed the Declaration of Independence. One of the oldest ballet companies in the world, it is known for its bold and elaborately staged productions. In advance of the company’s performances at Lincoln Center Festival 2014, its artistic director Sergei Filin gave NYC-ARTS a rare interview.
