Joan Snyder is celebrated for her vibrant expressionist paintings and her leading role in feminist art. State of the Arts visits Snyder, a 2007 MacArthur "genius award" winner, as the Zimmerli Art Museum mounts the first major retrospective of her prints Snyder lives in Brooklyn and Woodstock, NY. She is a Rutgers University alumna.
